Cushion Cover Sample Approval for Wholesale Collections

Approving a wholesale cushion-cover sample involves more than the front-facing design. Your buying team needs to know whether the complete cover, including its reverse, closure and fit, matches the item your sales channels will describe.

Use one review record for each design and variant. This lets the collection team distinguish an approved product from a promising sample that still needs a construction, care or presentation decision.

Confirm identity and dimensions

Match the sample to the quotation or product reference. Measure it using the agreed points and compare the result with the intended specification.

Fit the intended insert. Check whether the cover can be fitted and removed as expected and whether the finished shape meets the brief. Do not assume a size name resolves the fit.

Inspect the front and reverse

Check the verified materials, colour references, pattern placement and visible finish. Turn the cover over and inspect the reverse separately, especially where it differs from the face.

Record specific observations. “Pattern placement differs from the approved reference” is more useful than “finish not good”.

Look inside

Review seams and accessible internal finishing without damaging the sample. Check the opening and closure, including how they operate with the insert in place.

If a detail needs a defined acceptance limit or formal test, agree that requirement with the supplier. An informal visual inspection should not be presented as proof of long-term durability.

Review decorative details

Check fringe, tassels, piping and other trims against the agreed design. Confirm any construction or attachment detail important to the intended use rather than assuming it from appearance.

Check whether your wholesale sheet and resale description clearly explain the cover, closure, dimensions and whether an insert is included. Review each decorative variant against its own reference rather than extending one approval across the collection.

Keep care questions in the decision

Confirm item-specific care guidance and any agreed trial or testing requirements. A sample can pass the visual review while still having an unresolved care question.

Record the outcome as approved, approved subject to specified changes, or awaiting further information. Identify the sample version and who will confirm any revisions.

Connect the approval to quantities by design, colour and size before placing the collection order. A change to the reverse, closure or trim should remain visible in the approval record even when the front design is unchanged.

Use Casa’s cushion-cover designs to identify the product references relevant to your enquiry.
