A hospitality importer or distributor needs a clear brief for each bath-mat line before offering it to customers. Construction, backing, finished dimensions and intended use can differ even when products share the same category name.

Separate the customer’s textile bath-linen requirement from any specific floor-performance or safety requirement. The latter needs relevant evidence for the actual product and conditions.

Identify the construction and backing

Ask whether the item uses terry, tufted, chenille or another construction, and confirm the actual fibre composition. Identify any backing separately.

Do not transfer a claim from one style to another simply because both are listed as bath mats.

Record the intended customer location

Explain the type of setting and the way the mat will be used. If floor-related performance or a safety requirement matters, state it explicitly and ask for appropriate evidence for the product and conditions.

A soft surface or substantial weight is not proof of slip resistance. Avoid treating an informal sample check as a safety certification.

Review dimensions and handling

Confirm the required finished dimensions and how the item will be placed, collected and stored. Check whether its construction suits the planned handling.

Ask the customer’s team responsible for the area to review the sample. Record practical concerns against the product reference before extending the line to similar customer enquiries.

Confirm care for the complete item

Request instructions that cover the textile and any backing or trims. Explain the intended laundry process and ask what compatibility information is available.

If that information is incomplete, retain the question as an approval hold. Do not assign care instructions from a different mat or assume every item in the category uses heavier terry.

Keep a separate approval record for each mat line

Keep the product reference, construction, composition, dimensions, intended use, care and any performance evidence together. Record any unresolved requirement before confirming the order.

Casa’s bath-mat catalogue is a starting point for product discussion. Suitability and specifications need confirmation for the selected item; this article makes no floor-performance claim for a Casa product.

Discuss your customers’ bath-mat requirements.
