A home-textile importer or private-label buyer may want a collection to coordinate across smooth bedding, towel pile and textured cushion covers. A shared colour name does not establish how those surfaces will look together.

Decide which pieces need a close match and which should coordinate more loosely. Give each product its own approved reference while keeping the intended collection relationship clear.

Define the colour relationship within the collection

Do the products need a close colour match, or should they coordinate within a colour family? That distinction matters. Record it before samples are compared.

If an existing collection item is the reference, identify the exact product, sample version and condition. A worn or repeatedly washed item may be a different reference from the original approved sample.

Use physical references where practical

Share an agreed physical reference or a clearly specified colour standard when available. Treat screen images as communication aids rather than an unqualified physical-colour guarantee.

Identify which sample and version controls the decision. Several similar swatches in different offices can create several interpretations of the same approval.

Look at each textile and the group

Review the actual construction and surface of every item. Compare the pieces together in the intended setting under agreed lighting, and keep those viewing conditions consistent during approval.

If your requirement needs formal colour measurement or defined tolerances, agree the appropriate approach with the supplier or testing specialist. Do not invent a tolerance from a photograph.

Consider the intended care process

Ask what evidence is needed for the appearance you expect after care. Assess the relevant samples under compatible, agreed conditions. Record any important difference between the initial presentation and the post-care result.

Colour matching at approval and colour behaviour during use are related buying questions, but they should not be treated as the same check.

Retain colour approvals by product and collection

Retain the approved reference, product details, accepted variations and any relevant trial results. When ordering another batch, identify that record clearly and ask whether anything has changed.

A useful approval sentence is specific: “These three identified samples are accepted as coordinating colours under the agreed review conditions.” It is more informative than “all blue items must match”.

For a Casa collection enquiry, list the products that need to coordinate, their quantities by design and colour, and the controlling references. Identify any label or presentation requirements separately from the colour approval.

Use Casa’s cushion covers and bed linen to identify the product references relevant to your enquiry.

Discuss your collection’s product and colour references.
