A hospitality distributor should review cushion-cover closures against the inserts and handling routines of the customers it supplies. Record the actual opening, closure position and care requirements; a shared closure name does not make two designs interchangeable.

Five checks for the closure and its handling

  1. Review envelope openings

An envelope construction uses overlapping fabric at the opening. Check the overlap, opening size and position on the finished cover. Fit the intended insert and assess whether the result matches the required presentation. Do not assume every envelope cover has the same fit or holds every insert in the same way.

  2. Review zipped openings

Check the opening length, zip position and surrounding finish. Assess insertion and removal with the intended insert in place, then inspect how the closure sits in use. Record any specific requirement concerning visibility or handling. A zip should be reviewed as part of the complete design, not treated as a standalone durability claim.

  3. Review ties and decorative closures

Where these options are offered, assess the steps needed to fit and secure the cover. Review whether the closure contributes to the intended appearance and how it will be managed during care. Confirm availability and suitability rather than assuming every construction can accommodate the same closure.

  4. Run a simple staff trial

Ask someone who will handle the covers to fit and remove each sample. Note the sequence, any difficulty and whether the insert or closure requires awkward handling.

  5. Interpret trial observations carefully
If you time the task, treat it as an observation under those trial conditions, not a guaranteed labour saving.

Two final specification checks

  1. Record the complete specification

Record the dimensions, opening, closure position, construction and care requirements with the approved sample.

  2. Review changes to the insert

If the insert changes, review fit again before reordering covers.

Retain the customer fit reference

Keep the insert dimensions and approved closure details with the product code. If customer properties use different inserts, record those differences before combining quantities. For replenishment, check whether the insert, care process or required opening has changed.

For Casa cushion-cover enquiries, share the intended insert and use so the relevant product options can be discussed. Closure features and care remain specific to the selected design.

Compare the relevant cushion-cover ranges, then identify the customer’s insert dimensions and selected product reference in your enquiry.
