Laundry Trial Results: A Hospitality Distributor’s Approval Decision

A hospitality distributor needs to know which customer requirements a laundry trial actually supports. A good result for one account’s process does not automatically establish suitability for every customer buying the same linen line.
Record the sample, process and acceptance questions before the trial. The decision should tell your buying and sales teams where the evidence applies and what still needs checking.
Confirm that the trial process is appropriate
Describe the intended care process to the supplier and laundry team. Confirm compatibility before proceeding, including any limits relevant to the complete item.
Do not take a domestic care statement as automatic approval for a commercial process. If compatibility remains unclear, resolve that question before testing the sample in an unsuitable way.
Identify the sample and customer-use requirement
Identify the sample and version. Record the measurements and visible features you intend to compare. Depending on the product, these might include fit, colour appearance, seams, hems, closures, trims or branding.
Keep the list relevant to the customer use being assessed. A sheet’s fit and a towel’s handling need different observations.
Document what happened
Retain the actual process details and number of completed cycles. Note departures from the agreed plan. Where observations depend on viewing or measurement conditions, keep those conditions consistent.
If you need a formal test result, agree the appropriate method and acceptance criteria with a competent provider. An operating trial should not be presented as a standardised laboratory test unless it actually was one.
Turn observations into a decision
Compare each observation with the requirement set before the trial. Record whether it is acceptable, needs a specification change or requires further investigation.
For example, “the cover no longer fitted the approved insert after the recorded process” identifies a practical issue. It does not, by itself, establish whether the cause was construction, sizing, care or another factor.
Record which customer uses the result supports
Record the customer process covered by the trial and any other accounts for which further review is needed. A trial under one set of conditions does not establish unlimited service life or suitability for a different laundry process.
Retain the trial record with the approved specification. For Casa enquiries, discuss intended use and care requirements through the product-specific quality and performance process.
Use Casa’s towels and bath linen to identify the product references relevant to your enquiry.
Discuss the care requirements for your hospitality supply range.
