Textile and Packaging Claims: Checks for Private-Label Buyers
Illustrative image. Final specifications confirmed at quotation.
Private-label textile buyers approve both the product description and the presentation that carries it. A statement about a sleeve, carton or label can easily be read as a claim about the textile itself unless the wording identifies the component clearly.
Review textile facts and packaging facts separately before releasing artwork to your sales channels. Keep the evidence connected to the exact component and wording being approved.
Name the component
Is the statement about an individual sleeve, a carton, a label or the textile itself? Keep that subject visible in the wording.
If several packing materials are involved, do not let a fact about one small component imply the same fact about the complete pack.
Make comparisons explicit
For a reduction claim, identify the baseline and what was measured. Is the comparison per item, per carton or per shipment? Were the product and protection requirements comparable?
Retain the measurements and the approved wording together. Avoid converting a small measured change into an unqualified claim that the entire product is environmentally superior.
Check what the destination can support
Claims about recycling or disposal need review in the market where they will appear. Do not assume that a material description proves that every customer can access a particular disposal route.
Arrange a review of the applicable destination requirements before approving an environmental claim. Keep any necessary qualification alongside the wording wherever your sales channels reproduce it.
Keep a claim record with the packaging artwork approval
- The exact component or product described
- The wording proposed
- The evidence and measurement basis
- The destination and audience
- The qualifications that must accompany the claim
If the evidence supports only a factual description of the packaging material, use that description rather than inventing a broader benefit.
For Casa bulk enquiries, specify the packing you require and any destination requirements early. Packing arrangements and any proposed claims need confirmation for the actual order; they should not be inferred from a general sustainability preference.
Use Casa’s cushion-cover references to identify the product references relevant to your enquiry.
